Review of "Rekindled" by Tamera Alexander

If you are a fan of Kristen Heitzmann, then you will love this book by Tamera Alexander! Their writing styles seem very similar to me.

In Rekindled, you are drawn into the story immediately, and it is hard to put the book down. This book will make you laugh and cry, and take a closer look at your own spiritual life. It will renew your faith in God's love.

Set in the late 1800's in Colorado territory, this is a riveting tale. When Kathryn Jennings' husband doesn't come home following a short trip, others try to convince her that he is dead. Kathryn, however, cannot accept it. Expecting their first child, she continues to hold out hope that he will return, until a body is found and identified as his. She must then admit that she was wrong, in spite of the fact her heart is telling her differently.

Kathryn struggles to hold onto their land, but with the mortgage payment coming due, finds it impossible, and must seek outside employment. A wealthy neighbor man wants to help her, but can she trust him? Her husband's foreman, an attractive man, whom Kathryn comes to depend on, is falling in love with her. Will she be able to forget her husband and return his feelings?

Months later, an unusual stranger comes to town, and Kathryn finds herself strangely drawn to him. He is so different from her husband, but there is something so familiar about him. She feels she is betraying her dead husband as she begins to have feelings for the mysterious Jacob.

This is such a bittersweet tale, but with a very happy ending. I absolutely loved this book and couldn't wait to read the sequel, Revealed. I will post my review here after I have finished it.

This is definitely one you will want to add to your Christian fiction library!
